About Night Praying or Lail Praying

A.      Meaning of Night Praying

Night Praying is praying that is done in the night after Isya Praying before the sun shines. It can be called Thajjud Praying / Qiyamul Lail and it will be able to be called Tarawih Praying / Qiyamul Ramadan on the Ramadan.

Lail praying is finished by Witir Praying that is praying with odd unit.

B.      The law of Lail Praying

Some of ayats that explain about Lail Praying.

“And as for the night keep awake a part of it as an additional prayer for thee: soon will thy lord raise three to a Station of Praise and Glory!” (Qur’an; Al-Isra, 79)

“As to the Righteous, they will be in the midst of Gardens and springs, Taking joy in the things which their Lord gives them, because, before then, they have done good deeds. They were in the habit of sleeping but little by night, and in the hours of early dawn, they (were found) praying for Forgiveness.” (Qur’an; Az-zariyat, 15-18)

Those ayats remain us for do the Night Praying that has much extra ordinaries because it is so suggested.

C.      Units of Lail Praying

No limitation that is explained by MUHAMMAD Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam.

But there is narrate that explains Lail Praying has 11 unites and one of narrate explains that Lail praying had 13 unites because it is added Iftitah Praying before finished.    

D.      The time of Lail Praying

Lail praying is begun after Isya Praying until before coming the time of Subuh Praying. It can be done after doing Isya Praying if we will be afraid to no doing it. It is like Tarawih Praying on the Ramadan.

Lail Praying has prime time in one third of night when all people are sleeping well.

The one third of night is the prime time because ALLAH looks at the creator that is still praying to him.

E.       How to do Lail Praying

There are many explanations of it.

1.                   It is started 2 units of Iftitah Praying and 4 units of Lail praying and 4 units of Lil praying.

The last is finished 3 unites of Witir Praying.

2.       It is started 2 units of Iftitah Praying and 2 units of Lail Praying and 2 units of Lail Praying and 2 units of Lail Praying and 2 units of Lail Praying. The last is finished 3 units of Witir Praying.

3.       It is started 2 units of Iftitah Praying and 2 units of Lail Praying and 2 units of Lail Praying and 2 units of Lail Praying and 2 units of Lail Praying and 2 units of Lail Praying . The last is finished I unit of Witir Praying.

If the Witir Praying will be done 3 units, Muslim must read al-a’la in the first unit after reading al-fatihah , and reading al-kafirun in the second unit , and reading al-ikhlas in the last unit ( 3^rd unit).
